is an experienced teacher and artist. Over the last 20 years she has developed her own personal approach to the mediation of art in many situations and with very different groups from children to priests, from school teachers to students. The main focus of herteaching and the accompanying research are: working in and with spaces, sculpture and time, action-oriented, site-specific mediation of art. Up to 2010 she was Professor at the Institute of Fine Arts and Art Sciences at the University of Hildesheim and developed the department for „Space“ with a focus on installation, exhibition and performance. Once in a while she is curating screenings exhibition series and public meals. In the past decades she has shown art projects and „active public art“ throughout Europe. All installations and actions are developed in close relation to the sites and the people. See some examples of her own artistic work here and her art mediation projects here.
I derive the techniques and principles from my activities as a sculptor - such as process orientation, performativity and context relatedness - and make them effective in my educational work. In addition to J++rgen Fritz’s workshop and his bodily approach, my attention is focused on the other materials which are used for the artistic image. What interests me is how you work with objects, colors, directions and sizes in your performance. We ask: How does something smell? How does it feel? How can you touch an item in order to understand it? What is background, what foreground? When is the space becoming a pedestal? How can you work with heights? Is there a rhythm of colors in the performance? Etc. For the workshop you need open ears and eyes, enthusiasm, confidence and courage.
