Don Quixote is a project by the Frankfurt artist Ahmad Rafi. The events will take place from August to September 2019 at Neuer Kunstverein Aschaffenburg, Kunstverein Familie Montez and Atelier Orbit 24.

Jürgen Fritz is invited to create a performance of 9 hours duration at the Kunstverein Familie Montez on 29.9.2019.

The Kunstverein Familie Montez is run by the artists Mirek Macke and Anja Czioska. The rooms are located in two connected round arches of the Honsell Bridge and offer an impressive but at the same time challenging situation for the 9 hour performance on 270 sqm with a room height of approx. 10 meters.

The preparatory workshop, led by Jürgen Fritz, will take place from 21 – 27 September 2019 at Atelier Orbit 24. Participation in this workshop is free of charge

Following the workshop, a 3-hour performance will take place at this location on 28.9.2019.

The Atelier Orbit 24 is run by the two artists DeDe Handon and Eva Weingärtner. It is located on the 8th floor of a former industrial building – with a panoramic view of the Frankfurt skyline. It is the new “place-to-be” for Performance Art in Frankfurt. A fantastic place to spend a week working on Performance Art.

The project has a very small budget. We cannot offer any fees or travel expenses. With the budget the rent of the rehearsal room as well as material money for the performances will be secured. If you have no friends in Frankfurt, you have the possibility to stay overnight at Atelier Orbit 24.

However, you should be available for the entire period. The workshop will take place daily from 10:00 – 17:00, on at least one day also in the evening and night hours. Furthermore, the workshop is physically and psychologically challenging – you should be prepared for that.
