Stefan Mießeler | Performer and Theatremaker
Founded -while studying English Literature – an underground publishing house for modern poetry, organizing public readings and poetry-happenings. Since 2012 turn to performance art and theatre projects, focusing on experimental interpretations of classic plays, original pieces and performance art.
Created and curated a theatre and performance festival for emerging artists in 2017. Original piece „Beasts and Heroes“ -a trash-tragedy on professional wrestling – selected for ‘west-off 17’ with showings at studiobühne Cologne, Bonn and FFT Düsseldorf
Work as performer for performance artists Inder Salim and Christian Falsnaes in 2018; invitation to University-Theatre Festival in Lisbon (Portugal) with performance-lecture „MasculinityNow!“
Since 2019 work as theatre-director in the German independent performing-arts scene; invitation to contemporary art space „Usine Utopik“ in Tessy-Bocage (France) in February 2020 with performance „you are the most important person in the universe“.
